The trustees bring a wealth of experience to their work guiding the development of Indiana University. They have run hospitals, overseen economic missions to foreign countries, sat on the boards of corporations and nonprofits, and founded companies. Such varied proficiencies have positioned them well to ensure that IU thrives in the new millennium.
The board is made up of nine trustees. Six officers oversee the business of the board. Members of the IU Board of Trustees do not receive compensation, but they are paid a small per diem when fulfilling their responsibilities, and all expenses related to board activities are covered.
