Serving IU since 1820
Two hundred and forty trustees have served Indiana University (some more than once) since the earliest members met in Bloomington in 1820 to choose an “eligible and convenient site for the State Seminary,” the first incarnation of IU. In 1924, Nellie Showers Teter became the first woman on the board. The body has included a full-time student since 1975.
Trustees are listed by academic year and chronologically.
